I have been getting a lot of messages like this one (ABSA Bank, Standard Bank & FNB Bank) in my mail (Not spam folder).
It sends shivers down my spine to think that this type of scam actualy works on some people. No matter what you do, these emails are in your inbox.

People take care. Don’t be fooled

And then there is a scam regarding the SARS that is almost simular.

    Whatch it.

At least the emails are sent to the SPAM folder so I just delete them daily; is there no way to report this to whoever as I’ve been told that SARS has paid me back some money, which is highly unlikely, into my ABSA account, which I don’t have. I’ve heard of a new way of getting to your bank account; you get called on your cell several times a day from an unknown number, to such an extent that when you switch the phone off, it is possible for the hacker to do a sim-swop and get hold of your banking details ‘and help themselves to your money; I’m safe in that regard as I’m always in the red with the bank, so they are welcome to the red balance – hahaha!

      Hi Gina

I have heard these stories too (and spoken with some victims) of this sim swap fraud. It seems to involve insiders from the bank and cell companies and leaves the consumers getting the raw end of the deal. Cash in the bank or not, suddenly you can end up with a big debt and hassle of fighting the banks. Nasty.

I get exactly the same mail, but had it mainly from Absa. I also received it from FNB and Standard Bank.
